Title: Isometry of Polish Metric Spaces, part 1

Abstract:

I will discuss the problem of classifying seperable complete metric
spaces up to isometry. Using descriptive set theory, I will show
that this problem is very complicated, in the sense that definable
complete invariants for isometry can not be essentially simpler than
the isometry class. I will also discuss the classification problem
for particular types of metric spaces.
